The Role
As our Head of Marketing, you will lead all marketing efforts, focusing on identifying the right audience, channels, and messaging to achieve audience-channel fit. You will gather insights from both paid and non-paid marketing channels, using this data to optimize performance and product strategies. You'll be instrumental in gathering and analyzing data from various formats (focus groups, surveys, data analysis), driving product decisions, managing top-of-funnel flows, optimizing landing pages, and guiding a team to execute paid and non-paid marketing strategies. Once the right fit is found, you will also be responsible for scaling the marketing team and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and own marketing efforts to achieve audience-channel fit by defining the right audience, messaging, and channels.
- Manage marketing creative process and assets.
- Gather insights from both paid and non-paid marketing channels and use the data to inform growth and marketing strategies.
- Conduct user segmentation, data gathering, and analysis to optimize marketing and product decisions.
- Experiment with performance and non-performance channels, optimizing for growth.
- Collaborate closely on product decisions, manage top-of-funnel flows, and optimize landing pages.
- Guide a team in implementing both paid and non-paid marketing channels.
- Scale the marketing team and operations once the right fit is achieved.
- Collaborate with product, growth, and executive teams to align marketing with overall business goals.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: 7-9 years of experience in marketing roles, with a strong background in early-stage consumer startups (Seed, Series A). Proven ability to scale startups to at least Series B.
- Marketing Expertise: Experience enabling and testing performance (social, Google) and non-performance (SEO, affiliate, referrals) channels.
- Analytical and Strategic: Ability to define KPIs, optimize funnels, and derive insights from user segmentation and data.
- Startup Mindset: Comfortable being a doer, leading as a team of 1, and scaling when needed.
- Location: Must be based in the Bay Area
