As a Senior Legal Project Manager at Affirm, you will be an integral part of the Intellectual Property team. This position will be instrumental in managing and protecting Affirm's IP as well as supporting IP-related initiatives and projects.


What You'll Do

  • Manage and develop Affirm's IP portfolio
  • Assist in the preparation, filing, prosecution, and maintenance of U.S. and foreign trademark and patent applications, independently managing docketing to track same, and collaborate closely with the legal team, in-house clients (including marketing, engineering, and product teams), and outside counsel
  • Partner with marketing teams on brand protection strategies
  • Create and refine processes for advising in-house clients on IP clearance, protection, and enforcement
  • Conduct trademark and patent searches, review watch notices, and manage domain name registrations as needed
  • Proactively manage the patent reward program for Affirm inventors
  • Conduct preliminary investigations into potential intellectual property infringements
  • Work across a spectrum of sophisticated legal, business, and strategic issues


What We Look For

  • 5+ years of IP paralegal experience in either an in-house legal department or law firm
  • Outstanding attention to detail and organizational and time management skills
  • Proven self-starter who can prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities with agility and efficiency, acting as a pivotal contributor to a high-performing team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including diplomacy, sensitivity, and interacting well with team members at all levels
  • Proactive and adaptable: confidently makes informed decisions, thrives with minimal guidance, and enjoys a dynamic environment that celebrates innovation.
  • Inquisitive nature: loves to pose questions, challenge processes, etc.
  • Strong project management, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  • Humility, integrity, and a desire to be part of a strong, encouraging team

Pay Grade - USA28

Employees new to Affirm or promoted into a new role, typically begin in the min to mid range.

USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year:

Min: $121,000

Mid: $148,300

Max: $175,500

USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year:

Min: $108,900

Mid: $133,400

Max: $157,900
