Founded by fintech veterans, their first product is a scalable API to send and receive instant payments — a business bank account you can programmatically use in real time. After learning from a salary-advance product, they pivoted to laser-focus on instant payments and are expanding beyond the EU.Role: We’re looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join the team, embrace the vision, and build life‑improving services around instant payments. You’ll help design and build APIs for new products as the service expands, working on a backend evolving from classic Rails toward a modular monolith with Clean/Hexagonal influences. Multiple APIs serve native apps and web clients, with many custom integrations and connections to financial systems for real‑time money movement.How you’ll work: Process merges practices from Kanban and Scrum with a focus on Continuous Delivery. 2‑week sprints; Product and Tech define and prioritize scope together; tasks tracked in Jira; developers pick tasks from the board; daily meeting for updates and blockers. Values emphasize finesse, pragmatism, fairness, empathy, and autonomy. CI/CD is core, with custom pipelines; communication is mostly async via Slack, with open feedback across the company.Schedule: Flexible working day to reconcile personal responsibilities. Daily sync after lunch (14:00–15:00 CEST); availability requested between 12:00 and 16:00. Typical availability window ranges from 06:00 to 21:00.Location: 100% remote. Candidates should be within UTC ±2 to ease scheduling. Most tech meetings in Spanish; documentation and peer review in English.- Solid understanding of software principles (you’ll work with Ruby and can bring other language experience).- Experience with TDD/best practices (SOLID, design patterns, testing).- Experience deploying to production and using CI/CD pipelines.- Value a solid test suite and write many tests.- Clear communication and active listening; self‑motivated and organized.Must‑haves (technical):- 4+ years developing backend software (Ruby, Python, JS, PHP, Java, Go, or similar).- Code quality driven by automated testing.- Designing/using relational databases.- Creating/consuming REST APIs.- Sufficient English for all technical work.Nice‑to‑haves:- Hexagonal/Clean architecture, DDD.- Ruby/Rails experience.- Common AWS services (S3, EC, CloudFront, etc.).- CI experience (currently Travis).- Fintech experience.Compensation: Header shows €50–60K.
