Senior Product Manager

Beams’ mission is to enhance safety across industries, beginning with aviation safety. We use state of the art in-house and 3rd party Machine Learning models and LLMs to identify and monitor risks and hazards facing the airline industry. Our platform analyses safety reports at scale, enabling faster decision making, deeper safety insights and proactive risk management.

We are looking for our first product manager who is experienced in agile planning and lean principles, and will thrive in a fast-paced, early stage and innovative startup environment.
Responsibilities
Gain a deep understanding of user problems through activities such as user interviews and, in consultation with design and engineering, formulate and prioritise pragmatic solutions which delight our customers
Develop and maintain the customer-facing product roadmap and internal engineering backlog, balancing the needs and desires of customers, internal business goals, technical feasibility and implementation cost
Communicate the product roadmap and set expectations with customers
Drive product decisions through short user centric feedback loops
Validate that solutions delivered by our Engineering and Design team meet our internal quality standards
Externally validate that solutions delivered meet user needs
Conduct market research to understand industry trends and the competitive landscape, in order to define strategic and market positioning
Work with Sales and Customer Success teams to develop product marketing strategies and assist in sales, deployment and customer support activities
Stream product and customer insights back into the product development process
Define and own product success metrics to measure impact and performance of released features
Communicate product plans, status updates and key milestones to stakeholders across Beams
Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement of the product process
Attributes
At least 6+ years experience in product management creating exceptional technical products, ideally in B2B SaaS
Experience building products from 0 to 1
Demonstrated experience working closely with designers and engineers in balanced teams
Analytical, data-driven decision maker with strong product intuition
Able to assess technical feasibility of proposed product features at a high level while simultaneously understanding the commercial impact to a customer
A pragmatic attitude to getting things done
Excellent facilitator of internal and customer meetings and user interviews—especially in remote work settings
Excellent written and verbal communicator, able to convey complex technical ideas to non-technical audiences
Understanding of capabilities and limitations of AI technology including Large Language Models and other transformer-based machine learning architectures
Knowledge of risk management domain and practices (HFACS, risk matrices, bowties) and airline industry a bonus
